Virtual Venue to Support FIBA’s Event Operations for Basketball World Cups 2026 and 2027

We are thrilled to announce that FIBA – the International Basketball Federation – has chosen Virtual Venue as their default solution for venue planning and operations. After a successful first collaboration centered around the Basketball World Cup 2023 in the Philippines, Japan, and Indonesia, this collaboration marks a significant milestone in our journey to solidify Virtual Venue as a staple in the sports industry.

FIBA, the governing body for international basketball competitions, will be leveraging Virtual Venue’s innovative platform to plan all venues and sites of its major events, with the focus already set on the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2026 in Germany and the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 in Qatar, while looking at making it available across the entire organization in the long-term.

"We’re excited to embark on this project after our successful cooperation around the last World Cup. We’re looking forward to exploiting the full potential of this powerful online venue planning solution, ensuring we have one source of truth and a standardised planning approach for all stakeholders across the event organization, while leveraging the many functionalities and possibilities the platform provides." Ashley Green, FIBA Head of Events

Our platform's power lies in teamwork, real-time data integration, and a commitment to sustainability, perfectly in sync with FIBA’s game plan for efficient and innovative site and event management. From venue operations to asset management, site visit reports, and everything in between, Virtual Venue steps up to ensure FIBA’s events are always a slam dunk, delivering smooth execution on basketball’s biggest global stages.
