How we got here
Focus BC was founded in February 2012 by three friends - Nuno Serra, Sandro Batista, and Vasco Pinheiro - with a shared conviction: geospatial data was too powerful to stay locked inside specialist tools.
The idea took shape beside the sea in Ericeira. By the time it became a company, the three had already been pitching at international events. No clients, no funding, just a concept they believed in.
Their first significant partnership came in 2013, when they signed with Google, a relationship that would define how they built everything that followed. Not as a reseller, but as a technical partner building on infrastructure designed to scale.
Over the following decade, Focus BC moved from services to products. Today, Virtual Venue is used by UEFA, FIBA, CONMEBOL and more, to run major sports events. City as a Platform is used by more than 50 municipalities and resorts, including Lisboa, Famalicão, Faro, etc., to manage daily city operations.
